Your Panchang stays with you.

Updated 30 September 2026 · Includes native iPhone, iPad and Android 2.1 apps

Eksaar Panchang is made by Gopala Subramanium as a free daily reference. There are no ads, analytics SDKs, accounts, subscriptions, or remote calculation services in this app.

What stays on your device

Calculations, selected coordinates, calendar preferences, saved places and personal lunar dates are processed locally. The native iPhone and iPad app saves this information in protected app files using Apple’s operating-system file protection and excludes it from automatic cloud backup. The web and other desktop/mobile versions use browser or app storage without additional app-level encryption. Someone with access to your unlocked device or browser profile may be able to read stored information. Use your device’s passcode and disk protection.

The web app caches its own files and city list for offline use. Storage can be cleared by your browser or operating system. Keep a backup of dates you want to retain.

Location and reminders are optional

Device location is requested only when you explicitly choose the current-location control. It is not tracked in the background. Your browser or operating system controls its location service. You can instead search the bundled city list or enter coordinates. Native notification permission is requested only when you ask for a reminder; delivery depends on device settings. The iPhone and iPad app opens Apple’s calendar editor for you to review and save an event. It does not request access to read your calendar database. Your chosen calendar account controls how saved events sync.

When information leaves your device

Deleting and backing up

On iPhone/iPad and native Android 2.1 or later, delete individual entries in My dates. Cancel pending reminders in Settings on iOS or My dates on Android. Use Settings → Export a backup before removing the app if you want to keep your dates. Deleting the app (rather than offloading it) removes its local data. On the web, desktop and earlier Android app versions, Privacy → Delete local data removes preferences, places, personal dates, temporary native exports and pending app reminders on the current device; clearing browser site data also removes cached web files. Android backup exclusions are configured for app data. Native Android 2.1 uses the system file picker for backups and has no internet permission. It uses Android’s optional location service; your device settings govern that service’s providers. These actions do not remove backups you exported or events you saved in a calendar; remove those separately in their destination apps.

Questions or security concerns

Use support issues for non-sensitive app questions. For a vulnerability, use the repository’s private vulnerability report. Do not include passwords, personal dates or precise location unless necessary and deliberately chosen.
